An analysis of two literary works illustrating different methods of coping with daily pressures. This paper compares and contrasts the economic, social and moral pressures on the Younger family in A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and on Miss Emily Griersen in A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner. It discusses how the characters in each work cope with these pressures. Faulkner describes Miss Emily as a town tradition and obligation.
